Brentford secured a top-half Championship place with a commanding victory over fellow mid-table finishers Preston.
Home defender Julian Jeanvier was stretchered off after a head injury in the opening seconds at Griffin Park, leading to 13 minutes of added time in the first half.
The Bees took the lead in that injury time, centre-back Ezri Konsa sweeping home his first goal for the club from a ball across the box that was not cleared.
Neal Maupay turned in his 25th league goal of the season to double Brentford’s advantage before substitute Marcus Forss fired in a third, low into the bottom corner from outside the box.
